AJ Capital Partners
For turning Field & Stream into a boutique hotel brand
After selling its Graduate Hotels brand to Marriott for $210 million last year, real estate investment firm Adventurous Journeys (AJ) Capital Partners was looking for its next hospitality venture. Drawn to brands with a ready audience and a story to tell, it hit on the 153-year-old Field & Stream. In May, AJ Capital is opening the first Field & Stream Lodge Co. alongside Starwood Capital Group, in Bozeman, Montana. Rooms at the 179-room property will start at $315 in the high season. The Bozeman lodge, decked out in rich plaids and vintage outdoor gear, sets the standard for other openings over the next several years.

Each Field & Stream Lodge will serve as a base camp for exploring nearby and iconic outdoor locations (Bridger Bowl, Big Sky Resort, and Yellowstone National Park). All lodges will also have supply shops for outdoor gear and goods. Wood-paneled great rooms with large fireplaces and a mix of seating options will serve as communal spaces. Guest rooms will include peg-board storage, custom wool blankets, and pull-out couches, as well as dedicated workspaces.
