A trendy New York-based spa is opening its first Nashville location. Bathhouse, a brand offering saunas, cold plunges, and massages, is opening its first location outside of New York in Wedgewood Houston.
The company signed a 40,000-square-foot lease in AJ Capital Partners' Wedgewood Houston development, according to a news release.
Bathhouse calls itself the "anti-spa spa experience" and currently has two New York locations, in Flatiron and Williamsburg. The Nashville spa will be located near the Merritt Mansion and feature a massage program, four thermal pools, three saunas, locker rooms, and a food and beverage program. Outdoor amenities will also be included in the 12,000-square-foot facility.
"There is something really special happening in Wedgewood Houston," Travis Talmadge, co-founder of Bathhouse, said in the release. "The curation of the neighborhood is spectacular, from Soho House to the incredible restaurants and retail."
AJ Capital has spent the past nine years transforming Wedgewood Houston from heavily industrial to an artistic hotspot. The firm has already attracted major tenants to the area, including Soho House, Pastis, and Hermès.
"Our vision from Wedgewood Houston is to honor the historic character of Wedgewood Houston while cultivating a vibrant community rooted in connection and authenticity," Eric Hassberger, president at AJ Capital, said in the release. "Bathhouse aligns seamlessly with this ethos, offering a space that fosters meaningful social interaction."
